Breaking down our advanced MRI Technology

MRI Technology is measured in terms of the field strength, or “tesla,” of the magnet. The higher the field strength, the more detail will be shown in the image.

What's the difference?

3T MRI

3T MRI scanners are the strongest option available for patients and can provide extremely clear and vivid images, and they can often be faster and decrease overall scan time. This MRI scanner is ideal for small bones, dense tissue and specialty scans.

The 3T open-bore option is widely available throughout our network and is an excellent choice for patients concerned about space as it offers the most headroom in MRI, with 70 cm of space from top to bottom.

1.5T MRI

Our 1.5T MRI scanner is the gold standard for MRI, offering exceptional, high-quality images for an accurate diagnosis. This MRI scanner is ideal for all traditional scans.

Our open-bore option is widely available throughout our network and is an excellent choice for patients who are concerned about space as it offers the most headroom in MRI, with 70 cm of space from top to bottom.

1.2 MRI

Available only at our Brighton, MA, location, our 1.2T MRI scanner provides detailed image quality as well as a unique open-sided design for patients who are highly anxious about their MRI experience.

This MRI system offers 45 cm of headroom and gives patients the ability to see all around the room during the exam. This unique 270- degree, unobstructed view is ideal for highly anxious, or claustrophobic patients.
