Shields Cares Mission
“Shields Cares” is an employee-initiated and managed fundraising group. The objective of this group is to build and maintain a pool of funds to support co-workers experiencing financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances. This grassroots initiative reflects the Shields' core values of kindness, character, and excellence.
Shields Cares funds are available to permanent Shields Health employees facing financial hardship resulting from unexpected life events. Employees may receive assistance from the Shields Cares fund once during their employment.

Through Shields Cares, we provide 50 grants each year, giving employees a paid day off to volunteer for a cause they are passionate about.
Please note: Employees are eligible to apply for and receive one Shields Cares grant per calendar year.
We encourage you to find a cause that matters to you and use your paid volunteer day to make a difference.
